Environmental management is firmly embedded in all our manufacturing processes. We define waste as anything that does not bring value to the customer.

To us, safety and the environment go hand in hand - our overriding goal is to improve safety as we reduce the impact on the environment.

Our philosophy is to conduct business in a way which meets the needs of today’s customers without compromising the needs of future generations.

Our sustainability journey is without end. We understand that today’s accomplishments become the foundation for tomorrow’s efforts and we have developed people, processes, and tools to measure and drive continuous improvement.


  • Our particleboards are made from 87% recycled materials and can be 100% recycled.

  • Our plastic drawers in our pedestals are made from 100% recycled materials.

  • Our steel components are made from 25% recycled materials and can be 100% recycled.

  • Our aluminum components are made from 20% recycled materials, and can be 100% recycled.

  • Our optimizing software system helps us achieve 80%+ utilization on our particleboard and MFC products.

  • We redirect over 4,000 tons of scrap material to recycling plants annually, 90% of which is reused to generate offsite renewable energy.

  • Our wastewater treatment system recycles 13 - 15 cubic meters of wastewater daily from our painting processes. We have Zero wastewater discharge.

  • Our Environmental Management System (EMS) has reduced our consumption of water by 33% and electricity by 28% over the past three years.






At Lamex, we strive to deliver solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations.

We have been listening, searching, measuring - going beyond where people buy the product and from whom. We are looking beyond the initial purchase to find out how end users feel about the overall experience, including the delivery and installation - six months, one year, two years after the transaction - and using the information gained to drive changes in our processes.

At Lamex, we have embraced and implemented HNI's Business Process Improvement (BPI) culture. It is now ingrained across the entire organization and is - part of the fabric of our culture - a tool not just for improvement, but for engaging and empowering our members.

Our application of BPI and LEAN practices allows us to deliver comprehensive turnkey solutions complete and on time regardless of project complexity and geographical location.

Quality and reliability of our products and services are critical to our success. All components, materials, and suppliers go through a rigorous qualification process as part of our quality assurance program.

We run utilize an SAP operating system to ensure our products are manufactured and delivered to our customers on time. Our bar code system tracks incoming materials from suppliers, products flowing through our manufacturing lines, and finished products being shipped to our customers for installation.

Our centralized after-sales service hotline combined with over 50 service providers located throughout China and Southeast Asia makes our service network one of the most comprehensive in the region.





Our design philosophy is to create beautiful and functional products that contribute to a healthy and productive workplace environment.

Central to this philosophy is the design and manufacturing of reliable and durable products which minimize the impact on the environment.

Many of our products have achieved level™ 2 certification – an industry first in China. This means our products meet the market-based definition of progressively more sustainable furniture as defined by ANSI/BIFMA. We also offer a wide range of products that are SCS Indoor Advantage™ certified. This voluntary certification meets BIFMA’s acceptable emission limits for office furniture.

For customers whose facilities are in pursuit of LEED certification, we offer a number of innovative and beautiful products that support LEED CI certification.

Core to our design philosophy is to provide solution sets that meet the needs of our customers regardless of their industry, scale of project, or geographical location.

We achieve this by leveraging the breadth and depth of HNI's industry-leading brands and products. We also have a number of strategic relationships with leading European and Asian designers who provide us with innovative product solutions that reflect the latest in international design trends.
