And the 2019 color is….

Design Trends

And the color is…. “Living Coral”! So the Pantone Color Institute has announced.

Succeeding “Ultra Violet” – and superseding the ubiquitous hue-of-last-year “Millenial Pink” – Living Coral (1546) is described by Pantone, leading provider of professional color standards, as being a “life-affirming shade of orange with a golden undertone”.

But why Living Coral? And why now? Besides having come to the conclusion after scrutinizing emerging color trends globally, especially in the entertainment and fashion industries, as well as noting recent use of Living Coral by Apple and AirBnB as clear signs Living Coral is a color on the rise, Pantone also feels that the time has come to look ahead with optimism after what can only be described as a gloomy year.

Vibrant, yet mellow PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment. Symbolizing our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits, PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral embodies our desire for playful expression.

When it comes to product and interior design, Pantone further notes that Living Coral is naturally suited for product across all ages and genders due to its humanizing and heartening characteristics. It is also perfect to foster immersive experiences and interactive spaces. Given Living Coral’s powerful ability to enhance human contacts and inspire interactions between people, it seems ideally suited to be used as part of Lamex’s Perch solution.

Fine-tuned for the workplace, Perch’s dimensions are scaled and shaped perfectly to facilitate relaxed conversations. A versatile solution, Perch has been used to foster creative collaboration in settings ranging from idea alleys and plaza spaces to enclosures and working lunch spaces.

As the world seeks to tackle several challenging problems in the coming year, our ability to work together becomes critical. Combining an inspiring color like Living Coral with Perch, a solution already known to foster collaboration, is one of the ways Lamex can help creative minds come together and imagine new solutions to solve seemingly intractable problems.
